Beer Talk Pt 1
Mine had a slightly more stellar head on it. Then again I'm much too prissy about that stuff because I'm the proudest bartender on the planet. I was so excited about this beer that on my next trip to the liquormart I picked up it's ultra angry cohort Oaked Arrogant Bastard Ale. That was the single worst idea I've ever had, it was disgusting, I like my beer to have flavor, but this thing was like sucking on burnt oak bark dipped in clove extract. It was bitter, and surprisingly dry, very heavy on the stomach. The good spice notes were completely negated by the harsh bitterness that hung on forever. However, look at how beautiful it looks in this glass, I managed to get a picture of this one because once I smelled it I couldn't bring myself to sip it right away.
Watch out, the labels are deceiving, the word "Oaked" is placed in such a way that if you're just grabbing, you can easily miss it. It was a major disappointment after how delicious the non oaked version was.
I have found several other's and the minute I start gathering myself to write more I'll post beer talk part 2. Try Arrogant Bastard Ale for real though, if you like your dark spiced beers, this one's so for you.
Serously?!
PS I'm on my 5th day without coffee, no wonder I'm depressed!!!!

Giftcard hell!
I have almost $60 in starbucks giftcards and no way to get to freakin starbucks! Its hell, eternal torment, the cards taunt me "hahaha you can't spend us" ohhh what I wouldn't do for my 7shot 9pump venti vanilla soy iced latte with chocolate and vanilla powder on top. Yes ladies and gents that is how I got my name. And all those gift cards will only get me 5 lattes and an iced passion tea.

Dunkin Donuts the good old New England staple.
Dunkin isn't my favorite, but since I don't live in or around a major city starbucks and little independent cafes are few and far between. I consider Dunkies to be the fast food joint of the coffee world. And sure, most of the time the coffee's good. But it all depends on what time and which location you go to. For example; I could go to the one near my house in the morning, get a terrible coffee, but go to the same dunkin in the afternoon with a different employee serving me, and order the coffee and have it be amazing. Or the other way around.
I love my iced coffees and Dunkin is addictive as hell but I think people overdo it and it's really played out. "america runs on dunkin" yeah... Because there's one on every corner so it's always an available option. At lest until you leave New England.
I however will wait all year for the pumpkin iced coffee flavor, starbucks punkin spice lattes can't compare to it. I feel like I'm drinking a home made pumpkin pie like my grandmother used to make. Throw that bad mamajama in a dark roast iced coffee and you won't need much sugar at all. Plus the adorable gift wrap style hot cup makes my day.
CHIPPI! Mirasol's Cafe Dartmouth MA
I have had a tawdry affair with this place for a few years now, I love Chippi sooooo much!!! I really wish I knew how to make these fabulous things but it's so super duper secretive (and super expensive, so I've had to cut back)... makes me so sad.
Someone needs to write a song about this drink!!
I also love their Chilena sandwich, I have tried the majority of their menu and I can truly say there is only thing I've ever tried there that I wasn't too fond of, and the culprit was a Veggie wrap.
Their coffee is great, their other drinks are delicious, and their food is out of this world. You really can't go wrong at Mirasol's it's just one of the best without a doubt.
Expect the Unexpected
Yes!!! Although coffee is my forte I will also be throwing in random momentary thoughts on my other two favorite things, food and craft beer. Oh look, here's one now!!
Food On the Brain: I'm stuck between cravings for a Chicken Tinga sandwich from Cosi and an Ebi Maki roll from Sushi Go.... Oh so torn! I'm hungry as a bear and I haven't had either in months. Curse you economy, for keeping me from the best things in life!!!
Who I am.
I'm not here to put any coffee company or shops down or say where you shouldn't go, but I'm full of volumes of coffee knowledge both relevant and not so relevant and I'm going to share some of my thoughts. Maybe the most stellar menu items at local coffee shops, maybe the not so glorious ones, prices, pointers, and always to answer questions. I don't claim to know it all, but I'm more than willing to learn what I do not yet know.
I love coffee and that's really all there is to it.
