Mine had a slightly more stellar head on it. Then again I'm much too prissy about that stuff because I'm the proudest bartender on the planet. I was so excited about this beer that on my next trip to the liquormart I picked up it's ultra angry cohort Oaked Arrogant Bastard Ale. That was the single worst idea I've ever had, it was disgusting, I like my beer to have flavor, but this thing was like sucking on burnt oak bark dipped in clove extract. It was bitter, and surprisingly dry, very heavy on the stomach. The good spice notes were completely negated by the harsh bitterness that hung on forever. However, look at how beautiful it looks in this glass, I managed to get a picture of this one because once I smelled it I couldn't bring myself to sip it right away.
Watch out, the labels are deceiving, the word "Oaked" is placed in such a way that if you're just grabbing, you can easily miss it. It was a major disappointment after how delicious the non oaked version was. I have found several other's and the minute I start gathering myself to write more I'll post beer talk part 2. Try Arrogant Bastard Ale for real though, if you like your dark spiced beers, this one's so for you.
